The Irony of The Pardoner's Tale

The Irony of The Pardoner's Tale
By:Trey Stewart

In the Pardoner's tale there is a lot of irony and also greed. The three most important things of irony a in the story are trying to kill death, being friendly by killing a friend, and the most important one is the story teller talking about how greed is bad when he is greedy himself.
How can you kill death when death can't be killed. In the Pardoner's tale three men that are good friends set out to try to kill death. What is wrong with these three friends thinking they can kill death can we believe that they drank to much. That is what is very ironic about the beginning of the story.
Then the three friends come across money under a tree and at first they think about splitting the money three ways. One of the friends decide to go into town to get supplies for the money. While he is gone the other two decide they are going to kill him when he comes back. Then they both think it is a friendly act to kill a friend that is very ironic.Little do they know that the one friend plans on poisoning them by putting poison in there drinks. That is how greed can cause friends to want to  kill each other in such a way.
In the Pardoner's tale it explains how greed can cause bad things to happen. The most ironic thing in the story is the person telling the story is greedy himself. The Pardoner would tell people he had valuable relics under his pillow. The hole point of the story is how greed is bad when the Pardoner is the greediest one of them all that is very ironic.
That is how greed and irony is used in the Pardoner's tale. The Pardoner's Tale is a prime example of irony and greed.

How "Pygmalion" Relates to Society

How "Pygmalion" Relates to Society

The book "Pygmalion" is important towards how people are looked at in society. It explains how the way you speak can effect were you go in life. So the two themes I am going to be talking about is class distinction and progression of Higgins and Liza relationship.
Class distinction in my eyes is important in how far you get in life. You have to be able to speak proper english if you want to get somewhere in life. I feel that class distinction relates to me in were I want to go. I want to be a welder to accomplish that I have to present my self in a good way by being able to speak proper english. It also can effect how high up I can get into the job like being a manger.  In the beginning of the book Liza could not speak proper english. Liza in society was at the bottom in class distinction, but once she learned how to speak proper english Liza was put higher up in society. Liza had the ability to do anything she wanted.
Higgins and Liza relationship at first started out ruff because Higgins new how to speak proper english and Liza did not. Which made Liza in a way beneath Higgins, but Once Higgins was able to teach Liza and she finally learned how to speak proper english. Liza became very important to Higgins in how he needed her to set up appointments. Liza still wanted something more from Higgins but she never could because Higgins was so use to being alone.  The good news is they were still able to be good friends in the end.
The book "Pygmalion" does relate to society in how it  is today by in the way you speak and who you can get in a relationship with. If you are not on the same level as someone else you cannot go anywhere.

My Goals in Life

My Goals in Life
by:Trey Stewart

Goals are very important to set in life it gives you something to look forward to and achieve. My three main goals would be to graduate, what to look forward to after high school, and my future in life.
My senior year goal is to graduate from high school. It is important for me to make good grades in all of my classes. It is very important for me not to get into any trouble for my senior year. To listen to all my teachers one final time. Also to life my senior life to the fullest and don't take it for granted. Those are the goals important to pass high school.
My goal out of high school is to become a successful welder. To do this it takes years of training to do this. I have already accomplished half the goal. I have been in welding for two years and I have learned so much. Once I have graduated from high school I will go to AIDT for fourteen weeks then be in the working industry.
My lifetime goal is to be financially stable. I don't want to have money troubles and also to make the right decisions with my money. I also want to be a welder for the rest of my career. I also want to be able to retire with enough money to live life without having to get another job. If I have a family to pass some money for my kids to be able to use for college or to get started. Those are keys for me to have a good ending at life.
This are the goals I must strive towards to be successful in life. I want to be able to achieve all of this goals and I will as long as I put my mind to do so. I believe goals is what keeps you going in life and strives you to do better.
